Daily Spiritual Exercise​​

Are you waking up and immediately looking at your phone or social media? If so, we have a different habit to suggest. Try starting your day in prayer, meditation, and devotional time. A few ideas:


  • Keep a gratitude journal on your kitchen table. 

  • Enjoy a daily scripture verse or inspirational message. Devote thought and prayer to your goals in life. Beware of wasting time, watching viral videos.

  • Pray for guidance whenever a worry pops up in your day.

  • Use social media to encourage others to let go of worries and devote themselves to a higher purpose.

  • ​Build higher purpose into whatever you do. If you set a weight loss goal, for example, ask friends to donate money to a favorite hunger charity for every pound you lose. If you clean your home, celebrate that the things you purge can be donated to Good Will and recycled for good. 

  • ​Pray throughout the day, thanking God for the blessing of a smile from a stranger or that of a warm meal in front of you. Build intentional spiritual exercise into your day, the same way you would physical exercise.
