We are inspired, in particular, by the star thrower storyThere are so many ways you can be a star thrower, the angel needed in your community. We have provided ideas to get you started here but are eager to hear from you about how you want to contribute, bringing a little piece of heaven down-to-earth. Go live for others!

"Don’t ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive and then go do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive."

- Dr. Howard Thurman

Live For Others

Researchers tell us that when we tend to our neighbors, we tend to ourselves. Indeed, there's scientific evidence that volunteering regularly is good for the body. You can lower your blood pressure, decrease your risk of depression and anxiety, and contribute to a longer lifespan with lower mortality risk -- all this, the result of regularly serving others.

The more you volunteer, the happier you get, according to a London School of Economics study. And if you combine a belief in God with your service, research shows this can also be a potent source of healing in your life.
